Helping people living with Psoriasis and sun protective clothing
SOLBARI specialises in sun protective clothing, swimwear and sun hats. Our products are designed, tested and rated UPF50+ in Australia by the responsible Government Agency ARPANSA. A UPF50+ is the highest rating available on the market and equivalent to wearing sunscreen SPF50+ all day long, blocks UVA and UVB rays.
Our SOLBARI Co-Founder Johanna Young was invited to attend the Conference on UV & Skin Cancer Conference in Melbourne last week, we wanted to share with you some of the most up to date facts coming out of the forum.
Professor Adele Green and her colleague Professor David Whiteman, both leaders and world experts from QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in Queensland have found that skin cancer is caused by over exposure to the sun in at least 90% of cases. Therefore, limiting exposure to harmful UV rays is critical.
Melanoma Patients Australia
SOLBARI is delighted to start a new partnership and support Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA).
MPA is one of the largest melanoma patient advocacy groups in Australia and a patient driven not for profit organisation that offers a national network of support and information to patients, their families, carers, and friends, about melanoma prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment.
Many of you have heard about melanoma. A number of you have been affected by the disease.
Melanoma is the most common cancer diagnosed among Australian adolescents and young adults. In the United States, it is the most common form of cancer for young adults ages 25 to 29 and the second most common cancer for people 15 to 29 (Source: American Academy of Dermatology).
