Size and fit

Head circumference measurement

  • Small / Medium: 21.5-22.75" / 55-58 cm
  • Large / XLarge: 23-23.5" / 58.5-60 cm
  • To measure your hat size, wrap a string or ribbon around your head, just above your eyebrows and ears. Measure the string length with a ruler and compare it to the size chart, and that’s your size! Once you receive your hat, adjust the back toggle for a custom fit.

Great wide rim hat

"A good quality wide rimmed hat, needed post MOHs surgery to cover my nasal area. When I measured my head I was on the cusp of s/m and l/xl so went for large, as there is no way of tightening this hat, which I hadn’t realised, I wish I had gone for medium. It’s ok if I am sitting but if walking in any breeze it falls in front of my face so if you are borderline I would go smaller. I have ordered a couple of other styles s/m both have an adjustable cord to tighten if needed. Awaiting delivery."

Highly recommended - protect your skin

"I have always protected my skin from the sun with sun block and covered up in the sun as I am very fair skinned. However, I do spend a lot of time walking and gardening and have not worn protective sun hats as often as I should. As a result, three weeks ago, I had cryotherapy treatment for solar lentigo ( benign) on my face. My skin has totally healed now but after my treatment I decided I needed to buy a really good sunhat because, after a whole body skin check with my dermatologist, he remarked that only my face had suffered from sun damage. I did lots of research and decided on the Ultra Wide Brim Sunhat because of it's UPF50 rating and Solbari's excellent reputation. It completely covers my face and neck and is comfortable and cool to wear. Sunblock is not enough. Combine it with Solbari hats and clothing for the best protection."

As a redhead, I need

"As a redhead, I need sun protection. This wide brim hat does the tricky in providing really good coverage - more than most hats I have had. I also find that with the sun off my head and face that it is a lot cooler when I am out in the sun. Only downside is that it doesn't have a ponytail gap - but I chose to purchase this one on special. But that is minor detail overall. The sun protection factor was the reason I purchased. There are other hats in the range that provide that feature."
