How UPF50+ Sun Protective Clothing can help alleviate Rosacea

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition affecting the face. The condition is non-contagious. It is most common with women with lighter coloured skin. It can also impact men. There are treatments and precautions that can be taken to manage symptoms.

Whilst the cause is still unclear, some researchers believe that people with Rosacea are sensitive to a microscopic mite called demodex folilculorum which inhabits the pores of the skin. These mites are found on the skin of all humans.

What are the symptoms of Rosacea?

Symptoms include: frequent flushing, yellow headed pimples, a burning sensation when applying water or skincare products, swollen cheeks and nose, lumps under the skin and enlarged capillaries/broken blood vessels.

What triggers Rosacea?

Factors which can exacerbate symptoms include: overexposure to sunlight/UV, stress, alcohol and hot drinks.

How can UPF50+ sun protective clothing help?

If overexposure to sunlight is a trigger for you then UPF 50+ sun protective clothing and sun hats could help you manage your rosacea. Dermatologists regularly recommend sun protective clothing as the first line of defence against UV exposure.

Our UPF 50+ face mask and UPF 50+ face & neck gaiter would be the most effective solution for protecting your face from the sun. Our range of UPF 50+ broad brim sun hats would also provide good coverage from the sun. Check out our UPF 50+ Ultimate Sun Hat which includes detachable panels which cover the face.
