Our why

To empower everyone to enjoy a sun smart life.

Committed and Focused

Our vision is a world without skin cancer.
We transform lives by preventing and detecting skin cancer.
Our passion is sharing Australian sun protection excellence with the world.

What we believe

Skin cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer. We created Solbari to help you enjoy a safe and healthy outdoors lifestyle. Dermatologists agree that whilst sunscreen is effective, specialist UPF50+ clothing and broad-brim sun hats are the most effective way to prevent premature skin ageing, sun burn and skin cancer.

We also know that early detection of skin cancer saves lives. Getting to know your skin and knowing what to look for is key to identifying potential issues. Clinically validated technology to detect skin cancer is an exciting development which we are actively supporting.

Whilst we see the early detection benefits in technological advancement outlined above, particularly in reaching those who may be excluded from healthcare systems, we advocate people seeking medical advice from their GP, skin specialist or dermatologist. This remains an essential part of your skin health regime.

How we do it

Product Quality

We test our products against Australia’s tough natural elements and the world’s most demanding sun protection standards. We’re meticulous about comfort, fit, function and performance. It’s sun smart and style, together at last.

Australian Excellence

Australia invented sun protection. The UPF rating system was created here and that’s the standard we judge ourselves against. All of our garments are independently tested and rated UPF50+ by the Australian Government.

UPF50+ is the highest sun protection rating awarded in Australia and it means that at least 98% of UVA and UVB rays are shielded.

What's the difference between
UPF & SPF

Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is the rating assigned to sunscreen products. UPF measures the amount of UV radiation that penetrates a fabric and reaches the skin.

An Australian UPF50+ rating is the highest rating achievable and blocks more than 98% of UVA and UVB rays. Unlike sunscreen, UPF50+ clothing does not rub off or need re-applying. It can be worn all day, every day, and is recommended by medical experts as the best way to protect your skin from the sun.
